A Kenyan dairy farmer holding a tablet in her cattle barn

Shamba Records started with a notebook in Nakuru. A farmer keeping 14 Dorper lambs noticed his weights were drifting — he just couldn't see it across pages of handwritten notes. By the time he spotted the problem, two animals were already underweight.

We built Shamba Records so that never has to happen again. It's the calm, modern record book we wish every African livestock farmer had — usable on the cheapest Android, fast on the worst signal, and honest about what your numbers actually say.

Today it tracks sheep, goats, cattle, pigs and poultry — from smallholder shambas to multi-farm cooperatives. We're a small team in Nairobi, working closely with farmers across East Africa.

"Our cost per kg gained dropped 18% in three months — just from seeing it weekly instead of guessing."
